Every match gets a transparent-background scoreboard overlay that updates live as you referee — no manual syncing, no second app. This page is a complete OBS Studio setup guide: quick setup, recommended Browser Source settings, how the overlay fits into a full stream layout, and troubleshooting if something isn't working.

What you need

• A SnookerFlow account with a match created (or an in-progress one)
• OBS Studio installed
• The match's overlay link, copied from the referee pad
• A scene in OBS for your stream

Quick setup

1. Open the match on the referee pad and tap Overlay to copy its dedicated URL.
2. In OBS, click + in the Sources panel of your scene.
3. Select Browser.
4. Name the source (for example, SnookerFlow Scoreboard) and click OK.
5. Paste the overlay URL into the URL field.
6. Set Width to 1920 and Height to 1080.
7. Click OK.
8. Resize or reposition the overlay in your scene as needed.
9. Update the score from the referee pad and confirm the OBS overlay updates live.

Recommended Browser Source settings

Using SnookerFlow during a match

The OBS Browser Source is the viewer-facing overlay only — it's read-only, nothing to click. Score from the referee pad on a separate device (phone, tablet, or a second window on the same laptop): player names, frame score, break score, frame count, the shot clock, and Shoot-Out/Snooker 900 timing all live there. Keep that screen open throughout the match; the overlay just mirrors it.

Suggested stream layout

• Camera or table feed as the base layer
• The SnookerFlow overlay above it
• Optional: commentator graphics, a sponsor or club logo, lower-third graphics

Keep the overlay visible but positioned so it never covers the table, the cue ball's likely path, or a pocket.

The overlay doesn't appear in OBS

• Confirm the overlay URL opens correctly in a normal browser tab first.
• Make sure it was pasted into a Browser Source, not a text source.
• Check that the Browser Source width and height are actually set.
• Right-click the Browser Source and choose Refresh.
• If OBS seems to have cached an old version, delete and recreate the source.

The score isn't updating

• Confirm the referee pad is scoring the same match the overlay link points to.
• Right-click the Browser Source and choose Refresh.
• Check your internet connection.
• Open the overlay link in a normal browser tab to test whether updates show up there — if they do but not in OBS, recreate the Browser Source.

The overlay is the wrong size

Use the recommended 1920 × 1080 Browser Source size, then resize inside OBS with the transform handles — or right-click the source and use Transform → Fit to Screen.

Best practices for clubs and tournaments

• Build and test your OBS scene before match day, not during it.
• Run a short private test stream first.
• Keep the scoring device charged or plugged in.
• Use a stable, ideally wired, internet connection.
• Have player names and match details ready before going live.
• Keep a backup scoring method on hand for matches that matter.
