Short, practical guides for referees, club managers and streamers. Start with your first match — most people are scoring within two minutes.

Scoring a Match

The referee pad

The referee pad is the control panel you score from — built for a phone or tablet in one hand, thumb-reachable, no accidental taps.

Potting a ball

Tap the ball's point value to record a pot for whoever is currently on the table. Only balls that are legally on at that moment are tappable — the rules engine tracks reds-remaining, colors sequence, and free-ball state for you.

Foul

Opens the foul panel, where you pick the foul value and, if it applies, whether it's a free ball. Fouls hand the visit to the other player and, on Snooker 900, always grant ball-in-hand.

Miss / Safety

Ends the current player's visit without a score and passes to the opponent.

Undo

Reverses the last scoring action. Undo history survives a page reload — it replays from the match's recorded shot log, so you can safely refresh mid-frame without losing the ability to undo.

Shot clock

Only appears on Shoot-Out and Snooker 900 formats (see Match Formats). Tap the clock or use the keyboard shortcut to reset it after a shot; letting it hit zero is a time foul.

Max from here / Fouls required

As a frame nears its end, the overlay shows a pill telling viewers whether the trailing player can still win by potting alone. It reads Max from here: N — the highest break still possible from the balls left on the table — until potting alone can no longer close the gap, at which point it flips to a red Fouls required: N, the number of forced fouls (at the frame's minimum foul value) needed instead. It updates automatically from the live score and balls remaining, so there's nothing to calculate yourself; you can turn it off from Customizing overlay colors and layout if you'd rather not show it.

End frame, Pause, and Reset Match

End frame locks in the winner of the active frame — if scores are tied it opens a re-spotted-black tie decision instead of guessing. Pause stops the frame clock for a genuine break in play. Reset Match is destructive and irreversible, so it requires typing RESET to confirm — there's no accidental full wipe.
